Slovenian Tim Gajser dominated the final round of the MXGP world championships in Great Britain in September and he’s planning more of the same in the New Year.
After an horrific injury at a pre-season race in Trentino at the start of this year, the Team HRC rider and five-time world champion was forced to miss most of the 2023 MXGP season with a broken femur.
However, after that lengthy rehabilitation, Gajser returned to win two of the last three GPs and give himself a massive boost of confidence as they head into the off-season, where he will now set his sights on the 2024 crown.
The 27-year-old said it was “great to finish this season with a victory”.
“It was a massive confidence boost heading into the off-season and also for 2024, so I’m very happy to win and to go one-one and just have fun riding out there.
“I’d like to thank all my team for all their hard work and all their support when I wasn’t at the races.
“My final round victory was down to all of them as well and it is really nice just to leave the last round of the championship with the win.”
